Mid-October 2026 shifted the RFQ calendar from last week’s Leicester Square and Colorado pylon stories toward workforce days, mega-format DooH in Germany, Southeast Asian trade calendars, China’s dual-session LED show planning, and Japan’s autumn Sign & Display Show. Fabricators and buyers still need the same discipline: name the destination country, state local mains practice (approximately 230 V AC across much of the EU, UK and Australia; approximately 120 V AC in the United States), and lock IP, structure and service notes before sample approval. Component documentation relevant to the market is a drawing package topic—not a whole-sign conformity claim.

Europe & North America

On 5 October 2026, invidis reported that Ströer had opened The Lighthouse on Hamburg’s Reeperbahn (Spielbudenplatz), a corner-format iconic DooH screen with more than 530 square metres (about 5,700 square feet) of LED surface—larger than Ströer’s Whale at Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and shaped for anamorphic 3D. Launch share-of-voice went to Penny (Rewe Group) and Hyundai. German and broader EU façade RFQs that chase similar landmark media should carry approximately 230 V AC design intent for Germany, plaza cable routing, corner-view geometry, content-window rules and maintenance access for a nightlife square—not a flat roadside board swap.

In North America, Signs of the Times covered ISA Sign Manufacturing Day 2026 (official day 2 October, with plant events on adjacent dates). Nearly fifty companies hosted students; Bakers’ Signs (Conroe, Texas) walked more than one hundred students through design contests and producing a school logo as a channel logo, while Signarama Troy (Michigan) demonstrated halo-lit letter installation and live vehicle wrapping. For US shops, the RFQ takeaway is workforce and process visibility: when you quote face-lit or halo packages for approximately 120 V AC United States sites, ask bidders to state return depth, face retention, LED DC preference (shops often discuss 12 V or 24 V DC—confirm), driver location and mounting method in the same sheet the apprentices just walked.

Southeast Asia

Organizers of Bangkok Ad & Sign Expo list the 2026 edition for 5–8 November at IMPACT, Thailand (Halls 6–7), covering out-of-home advertising media production, advertising signage, vehicle wraps and high-rise building graphics. Official show pages position the event for machinery, materials and live demonstrations aimed at Thai and regional buyers. ASEAN shopfront and OOH fabricators preparing November visits should bring destination-country voltage notes (Thailand and much of ASEAN plan around approximately 230 V AC mains—confirm with the site electrician), tropical IP intent, raceway versus flush stud preferences, and sample face materials—not a catalogue PDF alone.

Pair the Bangkok calendar with last week’s Jakarta INDO SIGN, LED & Advertising Expo (7–10 October at JIExpo Kemayoran) when sequencing supplier meetings: one show leans LED/ad-tech supply; the other leans OOH production and wraps. RFQs that follow either floor should still separate building mains, LED DC inside letters or cabinets, and driver / controller location as three lines.

China

LED CHINA’s official English site continues the dual-session strategy after the Shanghai autumn block with SIGN CHINA / Digital Signage China (15–17 September 2026 at SNIEC): the next Shenzhen edition is listed for 21–23 February 2027, framed around LED display, audiovisual and digital signage in a major LED production hub. Buyers writing China-origin LED cabinet or module RFQs for export should name the destination country for electrical handoff (EU/UK/AU approximately 230 V AC; US approximately 120 V AC), state outdoor IP and structural wind notes when façades are involved, and request component documentation relevant to that market—without treating a show visit as a whole-sign listing.

Shanghai’s co-located SIGN CHINA topics still matter for acrylic panels, lightboxes, laser cutting and retail POP—useful when a China RFQ mixes fabricated letters with printed faces or cabinets. Keep trim, return depth, face material and LED colour temperature on separate drawing lines so estimators do not collapse “sign package” into one vague SKU.

Japan & Korea

The 67th Sign & Display Show (SIGN & DISPLAY SHOW 2026), organised by the Tokyo Outdoor Advertising Art Cooperative, runs 21–23 October 2026, 10:00–17:00, at Tokyo Big Sight Ariake GYM-EX, with free entry after web registration. Official guidance lists about 250 booths covering sign and display fabrication materials, processing equipment and related vehicles. Japan-bound RFQs after the show should name Japan as destination country, plan around approximately 230 V AC mains practice with the local electrician, and capture sample notes on outdoor stroke, face materials and mounting—PSE or other component marks belong on the parts list, not as a blanket whole-sign claim.

Korea-facing packages in the same regional brief should still spell Seoul or Busan site constraints separately: wall colour for halo, landlord capital-height caps, and whether letters ship for local licensed installation. Cross-shipping Japan and Korea kits without country-specific electrical and permit notes is a common RFQ failure mode.

Shop-floor takeaway for Issue 4: treat workforce days and trade calendars as RFQ inputs. Ask every bidder for destination country, mains practice, LED DC preference, IP intent, face retention, return depth and mounting on one page—then approve shop drawings before metal is cut.
