Signage brief for the week of 13 October 2026 (Asia/Shanghai). Four regions below cover wholesale channel-letter supply, softer Asia–Europe ocean rates, ASEAN shopfront practice, SIGN CHINA autumn wrap figures, and Tokyo SIGN & DISPLAY—each with an RFQ line aligned to export-build voltages (EU/UK/AU 230 V, US 120 V, SG/MY 230 V, JP 100 V, KR 220 V).

Europe & North America

Fact. On 10 October 2026, ChannelLetter.com (Lexington, KY) opened factory-direct wholesale channel letters to shops and resellers with no minimum order. Illuminated sets are described with UL-listed modules and supplies, pre-wired, with 1:1 mounting patterns and about 15 business-day lead time plus US shipping. For RFQs comparing domestic fill-in to China-export crates, write US site power as 120 V / 60 Hz per the export build sheet. Module listing is not assembled-sign UL 48 listing.

RFQ. US job: 120 V / 60 Hz drivers, face-lit or halo, metal returns + UV acrylic faces, 1:1 pattern, Incoterm and job-site address.

Fact. ContainerSignal’s 15 October 2026 note (Drewry to 8 Oct; Freightos week of 13 Oct) shows Asia–Europe spots still soft: Shanghai–Rotterdam about US$3,337 / 40ft (−2%), Shanghai–Genoa about US$3,696, Asia–Europe down for 13 weeks. Transpacific West Coast eased (Shanghai–LA about US$7,624 / −3%) while East Coast stays elevated. Blank sailings continue on Asia–Europe/Med and eastbound transpacific. Label crates 230 V / 50 Hz for EU/UK and 120 V / 60 Hz for US.

RFQ. Destination port + Incoterm, preferred sail week, crate voltage mark (230 V EU or 120 V US), driver box inside or separate.

Fact. A 13 October 2026 Global Signage Suppliers guide stresses IEC 60529 IP for the complete outdoor enclosure—doors, gaskets, glands, face—not module-only IP65. Write mains before finishes: EU/UK/AU 230 V, US 120 V. Typical outdoor ask remains IP65 complete letters; skip CE/UL/RCM claims on finished letters unless that job’s file is quoted.

RFQ. Outdoor complete-enclosure IP65 (IP66 if wash-down); EU 230 V / 50 Hz or US 120 V / 60 Hz; drain holes and gland plan.

Southeast Asia

Fact. Singapore fabricator I-SIGNAGE describes night-readable shopfronts with aluminium or stainless returns, acrylic faces, and LED modules. Front-lit return depth often 50–80 mm; outdoor modules 12 V or 24 V IP65; supplies in a ventilated box, not taped inside letters. Wiring usually runs in an ACM cassette for landlord approval. Align crates with Singapore 230 V / 50 Hz—same family as EU/UK/AU on the export sheet—without claiming CE on the assembled sign.

RFQ. SG 230 V / 50 Hz; front-lit or halo; return 50–80 mm; IP65 modules 12/24 V; ACM cassette; note strokes under ~60–80 mm.

Fact. UMAKE’s Malaysia LED signboard guide (updated 8 September 2026) recommends IP65 as the outdoor minimum, 304 stainless or marine aluminium housings, open drain holes, and monsoon seal checks. Mild steel can rust in months on coastal sites. Manufacturing often 7–14 working days after approval plus council time. Malaysia mains are 230 V / 50 Hz—match drivers and state Port Klang or Penang Incoterm on import crates.

RFQ. MY 230 V / 50 Hz; outdoor IP65 complete letters; 304 SS or marine aluminium; drain holes; letter count; Port Klang Incoterm.

Fact. ACPSigns’ export build sheet lists EU/UK/AU 230 V / 50 Hz, typical outdoor IP65, Meanwell-class drivers when specified, and voltage plus pack list on the crate. The shop does not issue CE/RCM/UL 48 on assembled signs unless that job’s technical file is quoted. Singapore and Malaysia reuse 230 V / 50 Hz; Japan and Korea stay per-job with no default stencil.

RFQ. Destination Singapore or Malaysia; 230 V / 50 Hz on crate and driver; IP65 outdoor; pack list; Incoterm before production.

China

Fact. SIGN CHINA 2026 Shanghai (15–17 September at SNIEC) drew 20,768 professional visitors from 159 countries/regions, including 6,850 overseas buyers, per Trust Exhibition’s 23 September thank-you note. Next editions: Shenzhen 21–23 February 2027 and Shanghai 22–24 September 2027. Post-show RFQs should still ask for module datasheets, outdoor IP scope, and crate voltage marks—not booth badges alone.

RFQ. Sample set: face-lit channel letters, module pitch photo, IP65 outdoor, destination voltage on crate, FOB Shenzhen or CIF named port.

Fact. ME Printer’s autumn preview described four co-located shows with zones for acrylic panels, lightboxes and channel letters, and LED lighting. October buyers can still name those labels when asking for acrylic thickness (commonly 3–20 mm with optional stainless face) and LED samples matched to stroke width. Soft Asia–Europe ocean prints help EU crates, but blank sailings still risk slip—lock Incoterm and ETD before cutting metal.

RFQ. Acrylic mm + optional SS face; return depth; LED sample for stroke; outdoor sealed yes/no; target ship week.

Fact. ACPSigns acrylic letters document cast sheet at 3–20 mm, clear/opal/colour/UV print, optional mirror-stainless fronts, and face/side/halo/full-lit builds. Outdoor sealed packs are quoted per job; faces ship film-wrapped in export cartons. Useful after SIGN CHINA: UV-stable outdoor sheet, opal plus white backer for even full-lit, hybrid SS-face acrylic-return when weight matters.

RFQ. Acrylic mm + finish; mirror-SS face yes/no; face/halo/full-lit; outdoor sealed; stud or cassette; export carton.

Japan & Korea

Fact. The 67th SIGN & DISPLAY SHOW 2026 opens 21–23 October at Ariake GYM-EX (Tokyo Big Sight), 10:00–17:00, free with web registration, about 250 booths. Use the floor to compare return depths, SUS versus aluminium, and Japan-market LED modules, then write Japan power as 100 V with 50 Hz east or 60 Hz west. The export sheet has no default JP voltage—name prefecture and frequency on the RFQ.

RFQ. Japan 100 V; 50 or 60 Hz by site; face-lit channel letters; SUS or aluminium returns; outdoor IP; bilingual crate marks.

Fact. The 2026 exhibitor directory lists channel letters, SUS box letters, LED modules, and outdoor LED for signage across multiple houses. Treat it as a map of distributor expectations—module pitch for narrow strokes, outdoor versus indoor series, local PSE paths for supplies—not as a CE/UL claim on finished letters.

RFQ. Channel or SUS box letters; outdoor LED module series; stroke width; local PSE driver path; 100 V primary.

Fact. Korea KS C 7659 covers LED modules for channel-letter signs at DC 50 V or less, citing IP Code and converter standards. For Korea RFQs write 220 V / 60 Hz primary into a local-compliant converter feeding ≤50 V DC modules, ask module IP (often IP65 outdoors), and do not assume EU 230 V or CE on assembled letters. JP/KR crates stay per-job on the export sheet.
